Description: The Meehan’s May Beer Dinner showcased Wakefield’s culinary talents and pairing expertise. Each painstakingly picked Rogue Beer impressively compliments each delightful course leaving guests lusting for more. First course, Cornmean Crusted Soft Shell Crab is served with pale ale Chatoe OREgasmic. Braised duck ravioli, the second course, an Asianesk dish topped with ginger, suited well with light ale, Mom Hefeweizen Third course, Smoked Niman Ranch Pork Shank; a lovely, tender piece served over polenta cake with swiss chard and drizzled with a chipotle BBQ sauce. The smoke jalapeño infused Chipotle Ale brought out the flavors of the sauce. For dessert, Death by Chocolate; chocolate cheesecake with a chocolate graham cracker crust topped with white chocolate covered local strawberries and chocolate espresso whipped cream. The imperial, bittersweet chocolate Double Mocha Porter made for a heavenly match. Guests were pleased with the evening. “Absolutely fantastic food, beer, service and fun!” exclaims one guest while another expresses his “love of it all”. Meehan’s Public House Downtown will begin a five-week summer series tour in June which will showcase three local breweries and Wakefield’s incredible inventions.
